One-Line Bio

I was once called the Betty Crocker of the Upper West Side.

Biography

When I started this blog in January 2005, I lived in Manhattan, and worked as an attorney for a New York law firm. I had a long-distance boyfriend named R. We broke up shortly after I started this site. Then there was the summer, when I dated. A lot. A lot of losers. Fall came quickly and I reunited with a long lost love of years past. We immediately realized we should be together in a permanent sense (I told him as much in 2003, but we weren't ready then), and in December of 2005, he proposed. Now I'm married, living in Dallas, Texas and job searching. From 2002-2004 I had another blog called The Life of Erin. Its archives have been integrated into this site, but the names have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty alike.

A guide to a few abbreviations to help it all make sense:

R: boyfriend from June 2004-February 2005, lives in Maryland

S: college sweetheart, maintain sporadic contact, lives in Seattle

B: high school sweetheart, S's cousin, maintain friendship, lives in San Francisco

The Roommate: male friend from law school, also with first initial "B," still lives in the apartment we shared in NYC

Dallas: husband, lives in Dallas, TX with me and our two dogs, Abby Gail and John Quincy

A: law school roommate, female, lives in NYC

L: law school friend, lives in Columbus, OH

Shoe: law school friend who posts at www.newblueshoe.com

P: college friend/roommate, lives in Los Angeles

Interests

In no particular order: food, cooking, wine (drinking it, not talking about it), reading, movies, learning new sports (ice skating is at the top of the list), music (dropping my pretensions and getting back to what I actually enjoy), singing with the radio, taking road trips at night, massage, antioxidants, learning to appreciate cheese, popsicles, shoes, boxing, golf, makeup/beauty products, shopping (anytime, anywhere), card games, hostessing, big words, little electronics.
